Thanks for the feedback. Interface MTU is showing 1500 bytes. Traffic is running -- peering with others without any known issues. This "received unexpected EOF" in the "show ip bgp neighbors 206.108.255.2" jumps out at me, but my google-fu doesn't reveal anything obvious other than a hint at a TCP checksum issue. Resetting the session again (not the first time) has appeared to resolve it. Anthony mentioned MTU. I have had issues in the past with BGP, and larger MTUs. Especially when my router had a larger MTU than the path/destination router. BGP would establish, get a few prefixes, and then time out. I just took a look, and the route servers have a 1500 MTU. The configs are kept in sync with each other. The machines are virtually identical, plus or minus some minor hardware difference. We (AS53347) moved to a new border router overnight and had some issues with getting our MICE route reflector peerings up -- we'd learn a route or two per second. We had to tweak our Arista's BGP configuration to not "enforce-first-as". Most other direct peers were fine. Eventually RR #1 came up just fine, but RR #2 continues to languish, learning just learning about 10,900 routes. email scrapers - update participants list?

Hiya folks, Looks like we’ve been getting a small volume of spam based on seemingly culled email addresses from the MICE Participants list, located here: https://www.micemn.net/participants.html <https://www.micemn.net/participants.html> Any thoughts on obfuscating the email addresses listed there with a (at) and (dot) to help prevent? Or perhaps some other clickable CSS/Javascript thing that accomplishes the same? US Inernet Network Maintenance

Hello, US Internet will be rebooting the router connected to MICE next week to apply OS updates. We will shutdown all BGP sessions in advance to allow traffic to re-route. This will happen sometime on the June 19th overnight into June 20th. The precise timing is unknown as this is just one of numerous other network changes occurring that night. Duration of impact should be less than 30 minutes. Thanks! Justin

Changing hats

My $DAYJOB employer, Premier Communications (AS53347) is planning to move our interconnection with MICE to FiberNet (AS18883). I'm the technical contact for both. Can we get another IX IP to accomplish this transition? Organizationally, what, if anything, do I need to do with MICE? I know that I will need to make changes with all our direct peers, too. Fortunately, the NeutralPath NOC (operated by WINS) is still operating and not yet subsumed by Zayo. Last work from NOC: The original fiber bundle only had 10 functional fibers, so a temporary cable is being installed as of approximately 11:30 am central. After the install, splicing will occur which should then restore your service. No ETR is available yet. I called into one of their presentations/discussions earlier in the spring - agree that they have many good ideas, and that although we’ve implemented some of their best practices many of the remaining ones will take effort - both collectively and individually by members. Old MICE Traffic Levels

I took the MICE display that was next to the Cologix Suite 200 entry in order to update it. When I opened it I was surprised that on the back was a previous version from when the MICE traffic was under 10G. It was a great surprise, so I attached a picture for your appreciation of how far we have come. I plan on keeping all previous versions on the back of the frame to preserve some history. Yes, I’ve had the exact same issue on my Android smartphone – ad plays fine, but video does not. But these are mostly YT videos that are inline to a web page. If I opened up the video in YT itself it would play just fine. I’m also an IPv6 user. Just saw our peer with the GGC bounce. A heads up; We asked Google for an update on our ticket this evening. IPv6 problems for the MICE GGC seem to have returned today, based I our graphs probably around 10:00 am. Therefore, Google has temporarily redirected IPv6 traffic away from the MICE GGC, to Chicago in our case and I suspect most cases. Also, Google has escalated the issue internally, and with their switch vendor. We have some reports of IPv6 packet loss possibly in Chicago and probably earlier today.
