Charter is adding a second 10G link. The cross connect and optic have been installed but it has not been lagged into service yet. They should probably consider going straight up to a 100G port but I'm sure they're too far along in the process to not finish their 2x10G upgrade. Does anyone know when Charter will be completing the conversion of a single 10 gig to a 2x10 gig port channel with their current link being maxed out? Google may have other reasons for sending you traffic via transit, depending on service/location of data/capacity/etc. Just because you peer, doesn’t mean you should expect 100% of your traffic to flow via that session. Does Google have plans to add another 100G port? In the isp.google.com portal for us, many nights we see almost 50% of google traffic coming in over transit during the peak times so Google must be shifting traffic away from the IX once they're hitting about 90 Gbps. I opened a ticket with them but they said it looks normal when it doesn't to me. We should be near 99% IX traffic with them if their port wasn't saturated. Fiber Cut?

I'm looking at what appears to be a fiber cut on Zayo's route into the 511 building from the SW metro, affecting the Belle Plaine remote and several of us who come in from that direction are down or on alternate links. Based on my nodes affected the cut must be between 511 and Cologne, I don't know of any scheduled maintenance on that span. Looks like it happened a little after 10pm CDT. [Anthony_Anderberg]

I think we need to not panic, but work with our partners (cologix, and remote switch operators) to find out whats best for them. We are a community exchange, and we have to make sure we operate at whats best for the community. Meeting Agenda Item

With the upcoming MICE meeting I would like to put something on the agenda for discussion. It is a hot topic, however I would like to propose what I hope would be a small/easy tweak (famous last words). It seems like our port fees are a bit out of date. In general I think 1G and 100G are fine where they are, I would like to revisit pricing on multiple 10G ports. Originally the second port was made more expensive to push upgrades to 40/100G ports because of a lack of 10G ports. With so many people adopting 100G, I feel we have sufficient 10G capacity that the second 10G port should cost the same $250 as the original port. Possibly there should still be a higher price after the 3rd port since at that point they could move to a 40G QSFP port.
