I'd be willing to serve if the group is willing to have me. Here's my linkedin profile if you're wondering which face I am: http://www.linkedin.com/in/anthonyanderberg Although I don't have as many contacts as many other group members I know quite a few people in the ILEC community and might be able to evangelize the MICE case in those circles. We (NU-Telecom and Broad Band Visions) are still working through our options to get connected to MICE, so I'm not in a position to nominate or vote yet... not sure if that's a sticking point. Due to the difficulties we've had getting an organized, scheduled conference up for prior meetings, I've just built a MICE meeting room on our bridge. It is a 384K room available immediately for MICE business, at least until TIES starts providing production billed services with our bridge. If there's no capacity and demand issues, the room may remain available alongside those services too. Dialing by IP, folks can connect anytime to 206.131.133.9#6423, where 6423 (MICE) is the room ID. If you're by yourself on the bridge you'll see a splash until someone else arrives. We also plan to set up a separate audio bridge for the MUG meeting, and I'll send out the details of that later. -- Mike Ockenga TIES Senior Network Engineer, Helpdesk Supervisor mike.ockenga(a)ties.k12.mn.us ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the MICE-DISCUSS list, click the following link: http://lists.iphouse.net/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=MICE-DISCUSS&A=1

My two cents here, I think a by-default convention of as#.micemn.net would work good. But we don't need to force the micemn.net domain. When folks are turning up a connection to MICE, it would probably be good to ask, along with other details, what they want the PTR record for their IP set to. I think most folks might prefer something including their own domain, like he.net is asking for. The Equinix model of "we'll set PTR records to whatever you ask" seems to work (ex: https://www.peeringdb.com/dns-scan/206-223-119-0-24.txt) -- Andrew Hoyos Hoyos Consulting LLC ofc: +1 608 616 9950 andrew(a)hoyosconsulting.com www.hoyosconsulting.com ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the MICE-DISCUSS list, click the following link: http://lists.iphouse.net/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=MICE-DISCUSS&A=1

Brochure for MICE

by Steve Howard

Jay and I have been discussing creating a MICE brochure that he can hand out at MTA. I can ask a graphic design person here to put one together, but what information should be included? Logo, Name, website, contact info, etc. What can we put on it so that people who have no idea what peering is pass the brochure on to their network staff? I suspect that the word "free" might help get some attention? I figure this would be too small of a print run to justify the cost of regular printing, so we could just do a color laser print and run it through a folding machine if that makes sense? Please help with suggestions and ideas! Thanks, Steve ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the MICE-DISCUSS list, click the following link: http://lists.iphouse.net/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=MICE-DISCUSS&A=1
