Re: MICE 2019 Board Election

by AnthonyAnderberg＠nuvera.net

The nomination period for the MICE board of directors is now closed, the only nomination I've seen is Richard Laager - let me know if I've missed any others. https://lists.iphouse.net/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind1908&L=MICE-DISCUSS&T=0&F=&S=&P=… The election will occur during the October 16th UG33 meeting, which will be held at the 511 building at 3pm CST. We'll be using a Marble/Pokerchip Voting Method again for this meeting, if you are unable to attend the meeting in person you can email your ASN and vote to peering(a)micemn.net and I can cast your vote during the meeting. If you'd prefer that someone else proxies your vote just send a note to this mailing list with your ASN and who you're designating as your proxy, and they'll get your "marble" to cast during the voting process. MN VoIP Remote Upgrade

by Jeremy Lumby

In accordance with the MICE remote switch operator guidelines, MN VoIP will be upgrading their remote switch and uplink to the MICE core on the afternoon of October 11th at approx 2PM to keep uplink utilization under 66% of the link capacity. Prior to the maintenance, BGP will be blocked so traffic can gracefully reroute. During the maintenance connectivity will be down for approximately 15 minutes. A 100G switch will be added between the existing MN VoIP extension and the MICE core. This switch will not only increase the MN VoIP uplink from 40G to 100G, it will also make 32 100G ports available to anyone wishing to connect to MICE via MN VoIP @ 100G. I will send out a notification to the discuss list right before I commence with the maintenance.
