NANOG in Minneapolis

Signup is open for NANOG in Minneapolis. This is an excellent event and the NANOG meetings have played a large role in getting MICE off the ground. In fact, the first "MICE" meeting was held in a BBQ joint at NANOG in Austin, TX between Steve Howard and myself. I was browsing the weather map, looking at traffic levels. I found one graph that appears somewhat broken: Consolodated on the MNVoip switch. http://micelg.usinternet.com/cacti/graph.php?rra_id=all&local_graph_id=1914 The blue outbound traffic line is present about 02:00 till 06:00, but missing most of the time. Started about beginning of August. Seems like a graphing/data capture error. I've setup Port-Channel 42 for them, and have turned port 6/11/1 into a LACP LAG for them to start testing with. We'll join 3/8/1 to the LAG when they signal us that they are ready.

I totally understand it's not a planned outage. That still doesn't make this hurt any less. I'm holding my transit provider, HE, accountable in hopes they'll hold their fiber wave providers accountable or add a new one that can do better. Rochester Hurricane Electric

At 10:02pm, HE lost multiple waves feeding their Rochester POP again. This is the 3rd major outage event in July. The POP is now running on only one circuit and is congested running at 100% capacity so speeds for us and other customers are bottlenecked. I encourage anyone with circuits at Rochester to email noc(a)he.net and ask them to resolve these continued issues by bringing in another circuit that is redundant to their current ones. This is the second of two congestion events and the worst was when they went down completely when all 3-4 paths were cut or down from maintenance in early July.
