MICE incident @11:47 CST

Anyone else have an issue? stats.micemn.net show spikes which would likely indicate a spanning tree loop or a broadcast storm. (You can pass IPv6 routes over an IPv4 BGP session, which everybody supposedly supports, but mostly doesn't work).. Also make sure to pass IPv6 routes inside the correct address family as well. Also, make sure you don't over filter on IPv6, ie. allow BGP protocol back into your router. Northern Light Gigapop Outage

We were making some scheduled changes this morning between 04:00 and 08:00, this caused the TCAM to blow on our router connected to MICE. We were partially recovered by about 12:30. However, we didn't get our MICE connectivity fixed until after rebooting that router, at about 15:00. We had a P1 case open with Cisco, and wanted them to pull as much info out of it before rebooting it. I know some of you probably got trouble tickets from this, we're sorry. Here's a dumb question: Can MICE's Akamai cache be backfilled out of UofM's Akamai cluster? And if it's possible, is there any synergy in combining the storage of both clusters to spread the content and backfilling across both clusters? IIRC, MICE has good connectivity to UofM and doing so could reduced UofM's backfilling costs and expand the content available. So if that is the case, a carrier can"t commit to just 100Mbps because they'd have to expect traffic levels to increase somewhat equally accross all contributing carriers and the only way it would stay lower would be if more carriers started contributing, correct?
