Re: MICE Traffic Drop?

by Mike Bushard, Jr

Arvig’s outbound traffic dropped to almost nothing at the same time. One of the bigger networks must have changed something? Looks like 11pm central, so east coast time??? Paul Bunyan also had a significant drop. I don't think that it was related to the holiday because it was rather abrupt and never recovered. MICE Renumbering Status Update 11/20/2012

by Doug McIntyre

Another update on the MICE renumbering project as of 11/20/12. Of the current 27 active and participating members talking multilaterly to the route reflectors, I still see 7 that are only announcing their next hop address in the old IP space. The schedule allows members to start unconfiguring their secondary IP address in the old IP space starting 12/1/2012, thus those that have NOT updated yet may start to experience reachability issues among MICE members that have updated and followed the renumbering schedule as they update their configs to allow us to release and return the borrowed IP space to Airstream. If you have not updated your BGP sessions to announce your next hop in the new IP space, please schedule up a time that this can happen. Again, here is the cutover schedule that was emailed out: Addition of Address Secondary: before 10/1/2012 New Prefix Announcements: after 10/1/2012 Final use of old IP address next-hop: before 11/30/2012 Removal of old IP address range: after 12/1/2012 Project End: 12/31/2012 Thank you! -- Doug McIntyre <merlyn(a)iphouse.net> -- ipHouse/Goldengate/Bitstream/ProNS -- Network Engineer/Provisioning/Jack of all Trades ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the MICE-DISCUSS list, click the following link: http://lists.iphouse.net/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=MICE-DISCUSS&A=1
