To be honest initially the idea behind micelg.usinternet.com was not even for a cacti type page but started to be an actual looking glass router/bgp view but I think Jeremy or somebody was donating a router for that purpose but the name just kind of stuck around anyways... memory is kind of fuzzy on those details for that far in the past though. The URL is not really significant on the actual web server. Paul Bunyan or whomever manages the zone records can simply add/update whatever micemn.net records deemed appropriate to point to A-record 216.17.46.18 AAAA-record - 2605:8400:0:5::18 ________________________________________ From: MICE Discuss [MICE-DISCUSS(a)LISTS.IPHOUSE.NET] on behalf of Michael Horwath [drechsau(a)GEEKS.ORG] Sent: Wednesday, February 26, 2014 3:34 PM To: MICE-DISCUSS(a)LISTS.IPHOUSE.NET Subject: Re: [MICE-DISCUSS] Public Stats Aggregate View On Feb 26, 2014, at 3:23 PM, Brady Kittel <bkittel(a)GMAIL.COM> wrote: > I believe it's donated server space. > Do you need member support to help with Netflix etc It looks like most of us have made entries at peeringdb.com, if anyone has not please do so and add MICE as a peering point. Sorry guys, I was late to the last meeting and didn't know anyone was waiting on me for this. I've created a couple new aggregate graphs and started exporting them for web pages: http://micelg.usinternet.com/export/ Both include in/out bits, one in the traditional area/line format and one as an area stacked graph that seems to be what the open-ix people want: http://www.open-ix.org/certification/ixp-technical-requirements/ Personally I don't like stacking both values on top of each other, reminds me of certain vendor's hardware capacity claims... but if that's what everyone is doing we certainly don't want to understate our size. All, This is actively being worked. Reid at HE & Cologix have excellent relationships with the key individuals at the search engine company. As was discussed at the last UG meeting we expect this to move forward with MICE in the near future.
