My two cents here, I think a by-default convention of as#.micemn.net would work good. But we don't need to force the micemn.net domain. When folks are turning up a connection to MICE, it would probably be good to ask, along with other details, what they want the PTR record for their IP set to. I think most folks might prefer something including their own domain, like he.net is asking for. The Equinix model of "we'll set PTR records to whatever you ask" seems to work (ex: https://www.peeringdb.com/dns-scan/206-223-119-0-24.txt) -- Andrew Hoyos Hoyos Consulting LLC ofc: +1 608 616 9950 andrew(a)hoyosconsulting.com www.hoyosconsulting.com ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the MICE-DISCUSS list, click the following link: http://lists.iphouse.net/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=MICE-DISCUSS&A=1

Re: MICE Reverse DNS

WIN has volunteered to take care of rDNS for the MICE blocks. The website is the best spot to pull assignments for members. Just to get the discussion going, how about the following convention? Not sure if the WIN folks are lurking on the list? Matt/Jason, are you guys hosting reverse DNS for MICE? Also, looks like there is still a need to get 69.147.218.0/24 at least SWIP'd to MICE.
