Fwd: NANOG 83 PCF Table Details
by David Farmer
Do we have a current one pager of MICE for the Peering Forum table?
We should probably say something about being above a Terabit of traffic.
I had Jay added to the sign.
Thanks

Subject: NANOG 83 PCF Table Details
To: Farmer <farmer(a)umn.edu>
Hi David Farmer
Thank you for completing the submission process to secure a table at the
Peering Coordination Forum. I am writing today to confirm that we have you
on the list, and you have been assigned to Table # 5. Please note, you are
allowed up to 2 representatives at your table, who will be able to
distribute business cards and provide a white paper or 1 sheet marketing
page. If you no longer wish to participate in the PCF at NANOG 83, please
let us know immediately.
We will be holding the Peering Coordination Forum the afternoon of Monday,
November 1, from 5:00pm - 6:30pm CDT, in Regency Room. Please arrive to the
room at 4:45pm to meet the session moderators and set-up your table.
Your table will have a personalized sign displaying the details provided
via your submission. You will find your table sign in the attached PDF
document. If you find you need to make any changes to the information
listed, PLEASE let us know immediately.
We are looking forward to seeing you!

You should expect to see them live on the MICE route servers this afternoon.

Peeringdb record lists a sole contact that's not at nanog.org, someone
at linespeed.org.
https://peeringdb.com/net/21636
Also agree that if not peering with route servers, the NANOG peer seems
less useful, especially if it's temporary.

Dave,
I've forwarded your message to the appropriate tech contact. Assuming they intend to peer with the route servers, I expect it will get sorted soon.

There is a bunch of fiber damage outside Dodge Center, MN.
It's affecting multiple long-hauls and also the Albert Lea remote is

Does anyone else find it disappointing that it took Google/Lumen a full 6 days to find and fix a rolled jumper?
I know if I had a 100G wave down that it would be a high priority to get it restored in a timely manner, not 6 days later.

Update from Google:
For an update, the circuit is restored now.
Lumen found the fault on their side. Their technician went to the demarc and saw bidirectional light but the fibers were flipped, he was able to correct it.
Link is currently up and stable for an hour with live traffic. BGP sessions are also established. We'll now proceed on closing this case.
I saw my two sessions (IPv4 and IPv6) come up between 2:09 and 2:10 pm.

This went down at the same time as some planned Level3 fiber maint between ORD and MSP.
We had some things on that same path down overnight but now recovered.
