Did facebook's prefixes withdraw from MICE during the outage? I showed 38 prefixes coming from both Facebook peers during and after the outage. Ryan Malek - Router12 Networks LLC Internet, Phone, and Hosted Services Ph. 641.420.7180 On 10/4/2021 8:11 PM, Frank Bulk wrote:

Looks like Facebook is having large scale DNS issues.
No, I still had the prefixes, and could ping them/traceroute to them across MICE. One interesting thing I observed is that www.facebook.com remained pointed at Minneapolis the entire time, however facebook.com resolved to Hong Kong however now that things are working again it resolves to Seattle. -----Original Message----- From: MICE Discuss [mailto:MICE-DISCUSS@LISTS.IPHOUSE.NET] On Behalf Of Frank Bulk Sent: Monday, October 04, 2021 8:11 PM To: MICE-DISCUSS@LISTS.IPHOUSE.NET Subject: Re: [MICE-DISCUSS] Facebook DNS issues Did facebook's prefixes withdraw from MICE during the outage? Thanks for sharing. Some other reports have shared the same kind of thing -- the edge seemed to advertise their address space, but traffic didn't traverse all the way inside their network.
