ipHouse is adding a remote switch located in their datacenter in Tritech. They will be upgrading their existing 1G connection to 10G (on port xe-2/0/3 main Switch). PCH, Sandwich.net and ipHouse will be the initial peers on the new switch. What port types are they offering?

I have them currently on 1/0/3. Are you saying they are moving to 2/0/3, or is this a typo? -- Richard

I'm going to assume moving, as 1/0/3 is the copper-only switch, I think. Is ipHouse being assigned an additional MICE IP address for their switch (e.g. if Cacti would use that)? -- Richard
Yes, the new switch will get an IP assignment as well. ipv4: 206.108.255.242/24 ipv6: 2001:504:27:0:0:D1AF::242/64 On Mon, Mar 28, 2016 at 4:37 PM, Richard Laager <rlaager@wiktel.com> wrote:

Primarily it will be 1Gbps and 10Gbps Fiber connections. We'll probably have an option to do the copper 1GB with a GLC-T SFP as well. No plans for 10G-Base-T.

We'll need to upgrade our existing connection from copper to 10G fiber. We just haven't needed the bandwidth before, but being a remote would only make sense to go 10G. -- Doug McIntyre <merlyn@iphouse.net> ~.~ ipHouse ~.~ Network Engineer/Provisioning/Jack of all Trades
