What does everyone think about putting a twitter feed on the website? It looks like there is a widget that will automatically do it. Also, should we embed the traffic graphs on the participants page? That's fine, which feeds are gonna be put there?

Do the participants want their details shared there? I was thinking member companies and people who have been active in meetings. If there isn't more that a couple it's likely not worthwhile. I'm still figuring out the twitter thing.

I dunno. These graphs are pretty neat from the guys in Madison. http://stats.net.wisc.edu/

We should do this if cacti can support it, even if it is just the "main" switch. -- Jay Hanke CTO, CCIE #19093 Mankato Networks LLC 320 East Liberty Street Mankato, MN 56001-3838 Google 530-618-2398 jayhanke@mankatonetworks.net http://www.mankatonetworks.com ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the MICE-DISCUSS list, click the following link: http://lists.iphouse.net/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=MICE-DISCUSS&A=1

Cacti doesn't I don't think - at least without creating a completely custom solution. I'd need to use RTG. -- Mike Horwath ipHouse - Welcome home! drechsau@iphouse.net The universe is an island, surrounded by whatever it is that surrounds universes. - Berkeley Fortune ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the MICE-DISCUSS list, click the following link: http://lists.iphouse.net/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=MICE-DISCUSS&A=1

The MadIX graphs are pretty easily done with some publicly available tools and simple interface stats. Check out network-weathermap: http://www.network-weathermap.com/ There is a plugin for cacti that allow you to pull in RRD data for use in the weathermap. Also, it's pretty trivial to add DS values from mutiple RRD files, to create an aggregate graph of the total in/out bits on the switching fabric. ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the MICE-DISCUSS list, click the following link: http://lists.iphouse.net/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=MICE-DISCUSS&A=1

I've used weathermap pretty extensively, I could take this on as a project along with some kind of aggregate view as mentioned earlier. Awesome, I'll put on the list.

I'm not sure why you'd think this is hackery.

We use the aggregate plugin a little bit, but I think that's about all it does. In other words, I'm not sure it does anything different than you could do by hand. As an alternative to cacti, this may be a good application for RTG http://rtg.sourceforge.net/examples/index.html Similar, but not quite the complexity of cacti. Ryan On Feb 7, 2011, at 12:43 PM, "Richard Laager" <rlaager@WIKTEL.COM> wrote:

I already use it for our bytes-transferrred billing. Good stuff, we're doing almost 10K points in ~12 seconds.
Similar, but not quite the complexity of cacti.
I'd say it is twice as complex as Cacti because getting graphs back out is all custom work (the example PHP code doesn't work, and as of 0.9, even the parameters for rtgplot are competely wrong). I am a big fan of RTG, but it isn't Cacti in terms of ease of getting things back out.
