Hello,
We are thinking about purchasing a Cisco Catalyst 3560-E 3560E-12D switch for the fiber switch for the MICE project.
It has 12 x 10Gig ports. The 10 Gig ports support the TwinGig adapter which can be used to convert a 10Gig port to 2 x 1Gig (SFP). That should give us plenty of fiber connection options (for now). We use these at various locations and they have worked out pretty well (other than the silly 1000 multicast route limitation).
Any thoughts or concerns with this switch?
Thanks, Steve
In the initial discussions the connection process has been laid out as the connecting party would provide the appropriate optic for interconnection. For a GE link on that switch it may require two optics the carrier optic and the SFP themselves. Would the carrier modules be provided or would the participants need to provide those? jay ######################################################################## To unsubscribe from the MICE-DISCUSS list, click the following link: http://lists.iphouse.net/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=MICE-DISCUSS&A=1
