I recently setup peering with Amazon in Chicago and successfully used peering@amazon.com to procure a bilateral with them.
It took about 45 days for them to complete their peering setup due to, as they informed me, work load and high volume of peering requests they receive. My point being, don't be surprised if it takes them a while to get this new peering point going quickly.
