MICE members, Nextera Communications AS22402 will be upgrading our MICE port on 3/11/2020 between 12:00 and 1:00 am. Nextera will be shutting down all of our MICE BGP peers and will then move the connection and restore our BGP sessions once the port move is complete . COVID-19 Planning If/when there is an outbreak of COVID-19 in the Twin Cities or greater region serviced by MICE are there any policies the MICE community wants to implement? For example, a daytime change freeze, especially given the expected increase in the prevalence of remote work or remote teaching as a response to an outbreak. With the upcoming MICE meeting I would like to put something on the agenda for discussion. It is a hot topic, however I would like to propose what I hope would be a small/easy tweak (famous last words). It seems like our port fees are a bit out of date. In general I think 1G and 100G are fine where they are, I would like to revisit pricing on multiple 10G ports. Originally the second port was made more expensive to push upgrades to 40/100G ports because of a lack of 10G ports. With so many people adopting 100G, I feel we have sufficient 10G capacity that the second 10G port should cost the same $250 as the original port. Possibly there should still be a higher price after the 3rd port since at that point they could move to a 40G QSFP port. Game or Apple update traffic spike?

Our transit traffic is way up today compared to normal. It started around 1:30am and we're at levels now that we normally see at 9pm for transit. Our peering is at a normal level. Lots of traffic from Edgecast and Akamai not coming through the IX but through our HE connection. Is there a new Apple release or something?
