This weekend while diligently avoiding my wife's "honey-do list" I wrote a script to parse stats via telnet from Jeremy and Doug's excellent new looking glass. I didn't see any commands that would give the number of MICE peers, so that number is actually the number of gateways in the routing tables... and of course the total number of connected addresses is just for fun. If anyone sees other numbers worth graphing let me know. One thing you could add would be this BGP Monitoring template - it baselines the # of prefixes for each BGP neighbor and then has additional lines for inbound/outbound updates. The possibility of of hijacking your DNS queries goes up from zero to nonzero when enabling DNS lookups on the router also it can cause delays on some commands when their are DNS resolution issues. Unless you have a specific reason to have DNS lookups enabled on a cisco, I prefer to have DNS lookups disabled. Having only just started using the 4900M I don't have too much experience yet but it does 10GBase-T pretty well. The Akamai servers are in! I'm going to be at 511 about 3 pm. If you have time and want to help out come on down! It looks like we're going to need a couple of rack mount PDUs. If you have one or two available please contact me. I think we're going to need about 12 outlets but I'm not sure exactly until I see the equipment.
